The U18 national team Germany lost their third tournament game of this year's Hlinka Gretzky Cup. The final score against Team USA in the Downtown Community Arena in Edmonton (CAN) was 1:8 (1:2, 0:4, 0:2) in favor of the USA.
The German team was the first to celebrate that evening after Emil Sender's goal (6th minute). However, the USA managed to turn the game around with two goals of their own in the first period. In the second period, the favorites pulled away with four more goals. The Americans added two more goals in the final period.
For the team coached by Andreas Becherer, the tournament concludes with a final placement match against Sweden on Saturday. The match starts at 22 p.m. German time.

As the game progressed, our opponents gained the upper hand, even though we tried to fight back. Now we have two days to recover after three consecutive matches. We're looking forward to the tournament finale on Saturday against Sweden.”
