In the playoff final (best-of-seven), the teams faced off against each other. ECDC Memmingen Indians The Indians, along with Deggendorf SC, two representatives from the South Division, faced off. After Deggendorf's opening victory in Game 1, Memmingen won the next three games and took the lead in the series. In Game 5, Deggendorf fended off the match point in front of their home crowd with a decisive 6-1 victory. Both teams engaged in a thrilling back-and-forth battle throughout the entire game: Deggendorf won the first period 3-2, before Memmingen equalized, and the scoreboard showed 5-5 after 40 minutes. The tension increased by the minute in the final period – but no further goals were scored. So, overtime was needed to decide the winner. And it came in the 74th minute when forward Brett Ouderkirk scored the game-winner, crowning the home team champions.
