Voice on the European Cup
U16 honorary national coach Christoph Höhenleitner: "The European Cup is an absolute highlight for our U16 national team every year – which makes us all the more delighted that we get to host the tournament in our own country this time. Even though the preparation time is relatively short, we can work much more intensively with three training sessions compared to previous years, which naturally helps us in the team's development. Based on the insights gained from previous training sessions, we have now assembled what we believe to be our strongest squad for the end of the season. In addition, several players already have experience from the U18 World Cup and will therefore be able to assume important leadership roles within the team. It's difficult to formulate a specific placement target – nevertheless, we are going into the tournament with the ambition of winning every game. At the same time, the development process is paramount: The players should gel as a unit, understand their roles within the team, and gain valuable experience at the international level."
