This is how the voting works
The vote will take place by postal vote The ballot consists of a simple yes/no question. All EU citizens aged 16 and over who have resided in one of the participating municipalities for at least three months are eligible to vote. The ballot papers have already been sent to all households – anyone who hasn't yet voted should do so as soon as possible to ensure their ballot arrives before April 19th.
The road to the Olympics in Germany
In addition to the Rhine-Ruhr region, other countries are also applying. Munich, Hamburg and Berlin for hosting the Olympic Games. The German Olympic Sports Confederation will decide in autumn 2026, through an extraordinary general meeting, which German bid will be submitted.
