One team, one design, one spirit – inclusively designed and Inspired by the next generation.
Approximately three months before the start of the Olympic and ParaAhead of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the German Disabled Sports Association (DBS), together with adidas, unveiled the new Team D collection. The outfits were presented digitally today via the teams' and adidas' channels in various formats.
Functional styles with a clear message
The approximately 70-piece collection, developed by adidas in collaboration with the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the German Disabled Sports Association (DBS), represents a new generation of functional sportswear. It combines clean lines with bold accents and, as with previous Games, was designed in close collaboration with Team D athletes. Support from the Team D ranks was also sought for the production of eye-catching visuals to present the outfit. The photos featured Laura Nolte (bobsleigh), Vinzenz Geiger (Nordic combined), Francesco Friedrich (bobsleigh), and Franziska Preuß (biathlon), among others. Moritz Müller (ice hockey), Muriel Mohr (ski freestyle), Jan Malte Brelage (Para Ice hockey), Christoph Glötzner (Para Alpine skiing) and Johanna Recktenwald (Para Cross-country skiing) in front of the camera. The pictures not only show the new clothing, but above all what it expresses: One team, many disciplines, one common goal: We are ready for goosebump moments, we are ready for Milan Cortina 2026.
Technology for maximum comfort
The new Team D collection is based on the adidas TERREX product line and was developed with modern materials and technologies to meet the specific demands of winter sports. The goal was to offer all athletes, coaches, and support staff optimal conditions – regardless of discipline, body type, or area of activity.
For example, all team members wear visually identical outfits at the opening ceremony as a symbol of unity, while at the same time offering an expanded selection of sizes and fits. A key element of the clothing for the opening ceremony is the waterproof and breathable Xperior Hybrid Primeknit CLIMAPROOF+ jacket. Developed using body-mapping technology, the material offers high elasticity, durability, and protection in winter conditions – thus ensuring maximum freedom of movement on and off the competition venues. The collection is complemented by functional accessories such as goggles, neck warmers, and neck gaiters, which add both practical and stylish touches.
Look between identity and innovation
The design of the new Team D collection combines national identity with modern design. Two color palettes define the overall look: While the competition wear features bold accents in black, vibrant red, sparkling shades, and white, shimmering tones such as ruby red, cream, and various shades of gray dominate the presentation and leisure wear. National symbols like the eagle and the abbreviation "GER" are combined in a graphic all-over print, interpreted in different scales and techniques.
The lettering on the jerseys, with its flowing lines, evokes the movement of a flame – symbolizing the inner fire and passion of the athletes. Inspired by the Olympic flame, the design thus creates a visual link between the Paris Games and the upcoming Winter Games in Milan Cortina. The collection also shows visible influences from the younger generation: new, relaxed silhouettes, variable fits, and a wider range of accessories. This makes it not only functional but also versatile and easy to mix and match.
Inclusion as a design principle
As with Paris, adidas is pursuing an inclusive design approach for Milan Cortina 2026. Cuts, color choices, and materials were developed in collaboration with Paralympic athletes and adapted to their specific needs. For example, zippers on the back were omitted to avoid pressure points, and small buttons were used to improve tactile feel. The collection also offers adjusted pant lengths and an expanded size range from XS to 3XL, ensuring that every athlete can find an optimal fit.
Cozy cool – what Team D says
One highlight for the athletes is the Village outfit with teddy fleece: "It feels so cozy," says biathlete Franzi Preuß. Bobsleigh pilot Laura Nolte is also enthusiastic: "I really like the teddy look with the jacket and pants. We finally have something like that in the collection." But the rest of the new clothing is also proving popular with the athletes. Jan Malte Brelage (Para Ice hockey): "Everything is extremely comfortable to wear and looks great, so we'll make a good impression. The hoodie is one of my favorite pieces – the warm yellow really stands out, especially in these freezing temperatures." Ice hockey player Moritz Müller The quilted jacket gets a "like." Another aspect that the athletes consistently rate positively is the color scheme. Bobsled pilot Francesco Friedrich: "I'm very impressed. We have simple, yet cool colors. You can see that it's 'Germany,' and you're proud to be able to wear and present it." Fans The Team D merch collection, consisting of around 40 items, will be available in the online shop at https://shop.teamdeutschland.de/ be available.
DOSB President Thomas Weikert: says “The new collection for the Olympic and ParaThe apparel for the Winter Olympics has once again been a great success and is more than just sportswear. It unites the entire German team, regardless of the sports in which the athletes compete, thus fostering that crucial sense of community and strong cohesion. A huge thank you to adidas for this fantastic clothing, in which our athletes will surely feel very comfortable and achieve success.
DSM Managing Director Claudia Wagner says: “adidas has once again wonderfully succeeded in showcasing the diversity of Team D and Team D ParaTo depict the Olympics in colors, shapes, and materials – and for the first time as a top partner in both environments. The look creates a strong visual link between the two teams and shows what community and cohesion mean. The result is modern, authentic, and functional – exactly how I envision an outfit by and for athletes that puts their needs first and makes their shared identity visible.”
