Clear victory against Hungary in Albertville
The German women's national team won its second match of the 4-Nation Tournament in Albertville, France, on Friday afternoon. After a successful opening match against Japan, Hungary awaited them today. The match ended decisively 5-1 (3-0, 1-0, 1-1). Nina Christof was named Player of the Match with a hat trick in the first period.
The first period clearly belonged to the German team, who set the pace from the start. Nina Christof became the protagonist of the period, scoring three goals. After her first two goals in the fourth and twelfth minutes, she extended the lead to 3-0 with her third goal shortly before halftime (18th minute). Hungary found their way back against the dominant DEB-Women hardly have any chances to score.
In the second half, the German women continued their successful course. Franziska Feldmeier increased the lead to 26-4 for the DEB-Selection. As in the first half, Lisa Hemmerle, who was in the German goal today, had little to do.
In the final period, Luisa Welcke increased Germany's lead to 41-5 in the 0st minute after a pass from Lilli Welcke. However, Hungary put the final touch on the game: Emma Kreisz narrowed the gap to 5-1 for her team on the power play, shortly after a second German penalty had expired.
For Nina Christof it was her 50th international match.
U18 women beat Austria after strong start
Also the U18 women's national team has achieved its second tournament victory. Against Austria, the team of national coach Sebastian Jones impressed, especially in the first two periods, in which the DEB-team scored two goals each. The final period then went narrowly to Austria with 1:2 – so that in the end the final score was 5:2. Goal scorers for the DEB-Selection were: Rebekka Multerer, Mathilda Heine, Charleen Poindl, Emilija Birka and Anabel Seyrer.
Saturday tournament finale for both teams
Saturday marks the finale of the tournament for our women's teams. The U10 women's team kicks off at 18:14 a.m., facing Hungary. The senior women's team then takes on host nation France at 15:XNUMX p.m.
