The U17 national team will begin the new 2025/20 season on Thursday, July 2025, 2026. The team, led by U20 national coach Tobias Abstreiter, will gather for six days at the national base in Füssen. In addition to nine ice sessions, off-ice training, and various meetings, the women's young talent teams, as in the previous week, will undergo in:prove testing* and a NADA (National Anti-Doping Agency Germany) training session.
Tobias Abstreiter and his coaching team have selected 28 players for the summer training camp in Ostallgäu – including three goalkeepers, ten defenders, and 15 strikers. Eleven of the nominated athletes were already part of last year's U20 World Cup squad in Ottawa, Canada, and the remaining 17 players also have experience at various DEB-measures and tournaments, such as the 18 U2025 World Cup in Frisco (USA).

U20 national coach Tobias Abstreiter"We will use the days in Füssen to prepare our players for the new season. This will provide us with important insights into this year's squad and our tasks on the road to the 2026 World Cup. Our training focuses will include special teams and the further development of our five-on-five game. We will continue to work intensively on our system and familiarize our team with it. Preparation for the two international matches against Slovakia in Kassel will also be a topic this week."
