The U16 and U18 women’s national teams will open the DEBThe 2025/26 ice hockey season will take place in Füssen. From Wednesday, July 9th to Sunday, July 13th, 2025, both teams will meet for their summer training camps at the federal base in the Ostallgäu region. In addition to several on- and off-ice training sessions, an age-specific training session with the NADA (National Anti-Doping Agency Germany) is planned. The training sessions for both teams will conclude on Sunday afternoon with an intra-association training game.
A special feature this year is the testing of the women's young talent teams as part of the in:prove project (funded by the Federal Institute of Sports Science). The findings will be used to support future training processes for the athletic and cognitive development of these young talents. The primary focus here is on considering each athlete as an individual and adapting their training plans accordingly.
U16 women’s national team with a balanced mix of new and DEB-experienced players
Honorary national coach Christoph Höhenleitner and his coaching team have invited a total of 28 players to the course – including 24 field players and four goalkeepers. Of the nominated athletes, 14 already participated in the program last season, while the other half of the players were nominated for the first time based on strong performances at their clubs and in the international competition at the end of last season.
Honorary national coach Christoph Höhenleitner"We're excited that the new season is starting now and we have the opportunity to get to know the new team. The week's structure includes three ice sessions, plus two internal training games in mixed teams with the U18 women. This format proved successful last summer. It offers us valuable insights into how the athletes perform in different game situations and how they handle pressure – a skill that can be crucial at the international level. For us as a coaching team, the focus this week is on getting to know and assessing the new players better. The insights we gain will be an important building block for assembling the squad for future events. We're looking forward to intensive days with many impressions and exciting moments."

U18 women's national team with many familiar faces
Sebastian Jones is entering his second season as U18 women's national coach in Füssen. Twenty-eight players have been selected for the start of the new season – 28 outfield players and four goalkeepers. A large portion of the squad is already familiar from the previous season, while the few debutants have earned their place in the team through their strong performances in the last European Cup.
U18 women's national coach Sebastian Jones: "Together with the U16 women, we are the first team to begin the new season. This season, we are benefiting from having a very young squad participating in the training sessions last year. These players already have a certain foundation upon which we can build. One goal of this clinic is to gain an overview of the players' current level, both athletically and tactically. We will review and deepen the game principles we developed together last season. We have also planned some off-ice activities to strengthen the team spirit. We once again find the joint clinic with the U16 women valuable this year – it allows for an uncomplicated exchange of knowledge and pooling of resources."
