National coach Harold Kreis on the squad nomination for phase three: "We've learned a lot from the first two phases, especially regarding the importance of our playing system and thus our strengths to compete at the international level. We're looking forward to integrating the national players who are now joining the team and will play with us in the two international matches against Austria, which represent the next important assessment of our strengths. At the same time, we would like to thank all the players who are no longer with us for their efforts in the first two phases of World Cup preparation."
There is also good news regarding further squad planning, such as DEB-Sports director Christian Künast reports: "We have received the releases of Lukas Reichel and Moritz Seider, and we've had a positive exchange with their NHL clubs, so both are expected to join us in phase four. Of course, we're continuing to monitor the situation of our other North American players, which is currently such that we don't expect any further additions for the time being. Furthermore, we're also in constant communication with Mathias Niederberger and hope that he will join us during the preseason."
