Tomorrow, Friday, February 28, 2025, DEB-Women's Competitive Sports Officer Ronja Jenike is traveling to Montreal, Canada, to take part in this year's IIHF Women's Committee Women's Leagues. The focus of the meeting is the promotion and further development of women's ice hockey. During her four-day stay, the 35-year-old will also attend the PWHL game between Boston Fleet and Montreal Victoire and meet with German national goalkeeper Sandra Abstreiter.
The meeting serves as a platform for exchange between representatives of different leagues. In addition to insights into the strengths and challenges of the individual leagues, the program also includes discussions on key topics that the participating leagues have submitted in advance. There will also be discussions on the global development of refereeing, the scheduling of the Women's World Championships and insurance solutions for players at IIHF tournaments.
DEB-Women’s Competitive Sports Officer Ronja Jenike: "I am delighted to be taking part in this international forum, which is making a significant contribution to the future of women's ice hockey. What is particularly exciting is the exchange of ideas in order to find new ways together and improve the structures and opportunities for players worldwide."
