The pre-playoff games are just around the corner in the top division of the German U20 Young Talent League (DNL). The first round of the best-of-three series starts on Saturday, February 22, 2025. The clubs in places five to eight in the top division main round have home advantage. The opposing teams that qualified in qualifying round 1 via places one to four must therefore play away first.

Direct qualification for the playoff quarter-finals
The clubs in positions one to four of the Top Division main round table have automatically qualified for the playoff quarter-finals. The Jungadler Mannheim, the Kölner Junghaie, the Eisbären Juniors Berlin and the ERC Ingolstadt looking forward.
pre-playdowns
The fifth to eighth placed clubs in qualifying round 1 will also compete in the pre-playdowns starting on Saturday, February 22, 2025. SC Bietigheim-Bissingen will face Augsburger EV - Schwenninger ERC will face EC Bad Tölz. The two losers of the best-of-three series will then play against the first and second placed teams in the final table in round B to qualify for participation in the top division of the 2025/2026 season.
