The Hauptround of the 2024/25 season in the blossom-ic German Women's Ice Hockey League (DFEL) has ended. Yesterday, Sunday afternoon, the last of a total of 20 match days took place for the six teams in the league. The playoff semi-finals begin next weekend, which, like the final, will be played in best-of-five format.
The best starting position as winners of the main round is the women of the ECDC Memmingen Indians who have 20 points after 47 games. Close behind are the teams from Budapest (43) and Berlin (42), so on paper it looks like a three-way battle for the championship. The MadDogs Mannheim, in fourth place with 26 points, also secured their place in the semi-finals. The teams from Ingolstadt (21) and Bergkamen (1) ended up in fifth and sixth place in the final standings.
The title of top scoring player after the main round goes to the US-American Madeline Leidt from Budapest – with 26 goals and eleven assists (a total of 37 points), followed by her compatriot Hayley Williams (Budapest, 34 points), who also has Hungarian citizenship, and the Canadian Nara Elia (Memmingen, 29 points).
In the playoff semi-finals, Memmingen (1st) and Mannheim (4th) will meet, the second duel for a place in the final will be between Budapest (2nd) and Berlin (3.). The game is played in best-of-five mode. The team that first wins three games in the series will advance to the final for the championship of the blossom-ic German Women's Ice Hockey League (DFEL).
The playoff finals start next weekend. The individual match dates are February 22nd and 23rd and March 1st. If the semi-final series have not yet been decided, March 2nd and 8th, 2025 are planned. Further information is available at: https://deb-online.live/liga/damen/bundesliga/?divisionId=17129
