U18 national coach Patrick Reimer will be the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund e. V. (DEB) at the end of the season. Last week, the 42-year-old played DEB-Sports director Christian Künast with the wish to take up the position as sports director at the DEL2 club ESV Kaufbeuren for the new season. According to the termination agreement concluded with the DEB Patrick Reimer will be in charge of the DEBselection and with the team the upcoming IIHF U18 World Championship in the USA (from April 23, 2025). Patrick Reimer will then move to the new position at ESV KaufbeurenReimer has been playing for the U1 team of the DEB responsible as national coach.
DEB-Sports director Christian Künast: “Even though we obviously regret that Patrick Reimer will be stepping down from his position as U18 national coach after the season, we welcome the fact that he is taking on a responsible role at ESV Kaufbeuren takes over. Ultimately, one of our association's goals is to bring German personnel into appropriate positions at club level. Patrick has achieved a lot during his time in office so far with his professional approach and has also enriched our entire team on a human level with his open manner. We are delighted that we will be tackling the U18 World Championship next April together and are now working on the details for the tournament so that we are optimally prepared for the challenging task.
