Voices about the game:
Women's national coach Jeff MacLeod: "Of course, the victory in the opening game was very important. Our players did the simple things well from the start and quickly found their rhythm. We fought well and gained advantages in some situations. The special teams also worked well. It was an important victory, now we are concentrating on our upcoming opponents from Slovakia."
Striker Emily Nix: "We are happy that we were able to celebrate a successful start to the tournament. We actually dominated the entire game. Even after a goalless first third, we remained patient and were rewarded for it in the end. It was the start we wanted and we want to build on that in the next games."
