Together with our host Karl Schwarzenbrunner talk about the groundbreaking in:prove project and share exciting insights and current developments.
short biographies of our guests
Prof. Dr. Karen Zentgraf is sports scientist and heads the Department of Movement and Training Science at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. Her Research priorities are in the movement science and NeurocognitionShe pays particular attention to the adaptation of the brain and body of top athletes to performance-relevant experiences as well as the individualization of performance, trainability and maturation.
Prof. Dr. Karsten Krüger is Professor of Performance Physiology and Sports Therapy at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. His focus is on the applied physiology, in particular the molecular and integrative mechanisms of adaptation to physical stress and training. In competitive sports, he is interested in inflammatory processes in training adaptation, the regulation of molecular biomarkers during stress and regeneration, and sports immunology.
The in:prove project
The Project “Individualized performance development in elite sport through holistic and transdisciplinary process optimization (In:prove)” aims to analyse the various facets of individual performance development. It develops scientifically sound diagnostic tools to identify factors that influence performance, optimises individually tailored training methods and offers strategies to support athletes whose performance development is stagnating. The project builds on the increasing importance of individualising diagnostic, training, competition and regeneration measures in recent years in order to promote the unused potential of athletes in the high-performance sector.
If we have piqued your interest and you want to learn more about the project, the transfer into practice and the current findings, then be sure to listen to the episode!
