Dennis Endras will national goalkeeper coach of the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund e. V (DEBThe aim of the cooperation is to sustainable promotion of ice hockey goalkeepers in Germanyto attract talented and already trained Goalies to gradually bring them up to international level and thus also to the national team.
As part of this task, the former national player will be responsible for the Goalkeeper training, further development of training methodologies as well as the development of exercise concepts and training platforms to provide impulses for the work with the goalkeepers at DEB and in the respective clubs. The activity also includes networking with goalkeepers and goalie coaches in order to act as the central contact person for the DEB In his role, the 39-year-old will work closely with DEB-Sports Director Christian Künast; Dennis Endras will also remain goalkeeping coach of the Augsburger Panther (PENNY DEL).
Dennis Endras on his task: “First of all, I would like to thank the DEB, to maintain the trust and look forward to the upcoming tasks full of enthusiasm. As a former goalie, it is of course particularly important to me to support the development of the work with the goalkeepers at DEB and to promote it in the clubs. It is important to me to illustrate the importance of targeted work with goalkeepers and to provide advice and ideas. All active Goalies can also expect me to listen to them. Due to the specific requirements placed on goalkeepers, I know from my own experience that it is good to simply exchange ideas. My door will be open for that."
DEB-Sports director Christian Künast: “We are delighted to have Dennis, an internationally experienced goalie, for our development work in DEB and to have won with the clubs. It is important to us to further develop the talent development in the goalie area and, above all, to adapt it to the conditions of modern ice hockey at an international level. That is why it was particularly important to us to appoint a person responsible for this at DEB to install a team that will act as a central contact person and source of inspiration for the outside world and will work with a panel of experts. We are sure that we will bring many ideas and concepts to further strengthen goalkeeper education and training work. In the future, we also want to have a larger number of goalkeepers who are eligible for the national team."
Dennis Endras looks back on an extremely successful career as an active player
For the DEBThe 39-year-old played a total of 95 international matches and participated in a total of six world championships part. 2010 he was best player of the home World Cup in Germany and was selected for the tournament’s All Star Team. In 2018, he was part of the successful Olympic team that silver at the Winter Games in South Korea In the PENNY DEL, Endras played 615 times, with the Adler Mannheim He won the German championship twice (2015 and 2019).
