There are still three weeks until the start of the Olympic qualification for the women's national team. From 6 to 9 February 2025, Bremerhaven will be the venue for an exciting tournament, in which four teams aim to secure the coveted place at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
In addition to the DEB-Selection the women's national teams are Austria, Hungary and Slovakia in the starting blocks for the four-day tournament. In the coming weeks, everything will revolve around the optimal organisation of the Olympic qualification. In addition to the intensive training planning of the German women's national team, logistical details are being finalised. The teams from Hungary, Slovakia and Austria are in contact with the organisation team of the DEB in exchange, corresponding releases and information are also coordinated with the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF. At the same time, the DEB The various volunteer teams also support the event. After all, it is important to guarantee the best possible conditions and a smooth process for all four nations so that the teams can concentrate fully on their task on the ice. Bremerhaven was not chosen as the venue by chance. The city is known for its enthusiasm for ice hockey and the Bremerhaven Ice Arena offers the ideal stage for the tournament. The German team is of course relying on the home advantage and the support of the Fans.

DEBselection meets in Kassel
The DEB-Women will compete for the Olympic qualification with the best possible squad. This means that in addition to the players who are active in the German Women's Ice Hockey League (blossom-ic DFEL), players from the European leagues and North America will also join the team. The DEBselection in Kassel to prepare meticulously for the tournament. There is still an international match on the team calendar: On Saturday, February 1, 2025, meets Germany on Hungary in the Nordhessen Arena in Kassel.
