The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) will start its second season tomorrow, Saturday, November 30, 2024, and the Fans can look forward to German participation again this season. The DEBnational goalkeeper Sandra Abstreiter was already involved in the debut season in the PWHL – back then the 26-year-old was on the ice for the Ottawa Charge. This season she has one of the coveted professional contracts with Montréal Victoire signed. Sandra Abstreiter was able to impress with her performance in a pre-camp and will thus once again play for the first professional American women's ice hockey league. To kick off the new 2024/2025 season, Sandra and her team will be taking to the ice against her old club from Ottawa.
The German national striker Laura Kluge was invited to a PWHL preparation camp. With the Toronto Sceptres, the native BerlinShe took part in several training sessions and Laura even scored a goal in one of two test matches. The 28-year-old was able to present herself well among the best ice hockey players in the world and left a lasting impression on the club's officials.
