Now it is official – the mascot of the DEB bears the name Eyrie. What is special about it: The Deutscher Eishockey-Bund eV had left the naming process completely in the hands of the Fans After a multi-stage selection process, the name Eyrie with 72 percent of the votes, the majority for themselves.
The DEB-Fans had both via the association’s own Instagram channels, as well as at this year’s Deutschland Cup in Landshut (20.012 visitors) had the opportunity to suggest a name for the new mascot. After the subsequent evaluation of the more than 360 different ideas, Erich and Eyrie Two clear favorites emerged. Then it was time for the decisive round – the final vote on the DEBchannels, was ultimately Eyrie the hearts of Fans conquer and prevail with a clear majority.
From now on, the DEB-Eagle, in his jersey with the number 63 (DEB-founding year) and the lettering Horst, accompany the national teams during their international matches and together with the Fans, cheer passionately.
