The Deutscher Eishockey-Bund e. V (DEB) congratulates Franz Reindl on his 70th birthday. The Garmisch-Partenkirchen native looks back on a long and extremely successful career in German ice hockey. As active player Franz Reindl took part in nine world championships and three Olympic Games. In 1976 he won the bronze medal with the German national team - an outstanding success for German ice hockey. He also celebrated three German championships during his successful career as a player (1978, 1981 with SC Riessersee / 1985 with SB Rosenheim). In total, he played 669 times in the Ice Hockey Bundesliga and scored 423 goals during this time.

Among other things, he ensured rapprochement, understanding and goal-oriented cooperation with the professional league DEL. From 2014 to 2022, Reindl was President of the DEB and during this time developed the Powerplay26 program, which aims to promote German ice hockey in the long term. Reindl has also held various positions on the international stage and is still a member of the IIHF Council today.
