The German women’s national team won its second match against Deutschland Cup 2024. The team of women's national coach Jeff MacLeod won 2.109-2 against Slovakia in front of 1 spectators in Landshut. The goalscorers were Nicola Hadraschek and Daria Gleißner.
In the first power play of the match after just over three and a half minutes, the DEB-Women Feldmeier and Hadraschek had their first good chances. But the Slovakians, who had just returned to full strength after the penalty had expired, took the 1-0 lead thanks to a successful break by Ema Tothova (6th minute). After the goal, it took a while for the German team to get back into the game. Shortly before the break, they equalised. Hadraschek the part in solo (19.).
The DEBThe team started the middle third in a dominant fashion and continued to create good chances. However, the Slovakian goalkeeper Risianova showed her skills confidently, especially in impressive moves by Laura Kluge and Charlott Schaffrath. After a goalless German power play, the DEB-Women continued to exert pressure and made the 5-on-5 seem like a power play at times. A penalty against Ronja Hark in the 32nd minute brought the Slovakians back on the offensive. The guests tested Lisa Hemmerle in the German goal, but could not regain the lead.
For the German women, it went into the final third with a power play, which captain Daria Gleißner 2:1 (42nd minute). With the lead behind them, the German women had the game firmly in hand. From then on, the Slovakians tried to disrupt the German attacking game, but rarely managed to launch offensive actions. Two penalties against Hadraschek and Kluge ensured high tension and a great atmosphere in the stands in the final minutes. With combined forces, the German team was able to defend the lead and secure its second victory in this tournament.
Hadraschek was named player of the evening. The final tournament game for the women's team is scheduled for Saturday. They will play against Hungary at 14:30 p.m.
