On Wednesday, Berlin this year's Women's Team Sports Conference which was concluded by the merger Team sports Germany At the second edition of the event, which was held for the first time in 2023, top-class speakers from sports, politics, media and business came together to debate the most burning questions about the professionalization of German women's team sports.
For the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund (DEB) took DEB-Competitive Sports Officer Women Ronja Jenike, DEB-Secretary General Claus Gröbner, DEB-Sports Director Christian Kunast and DEB-Competitive Sports Officer Thorsten Licht attended the conference. In the evening, national player Laura Kluge as part of a round table discussion. With the second conference, Teamsport Deutschland aimed to ensure a close relationship between sport and politics. Ronja Jenike spoke as a former squad athlete of the DEB under the agenda item “Women's team sport in 2024 from the perspective of a German squad athlete" about their personal experiences and insights in competitive sports. In the subsequent discussion on the topic “Strategies for Attracting Women as Leaders in Sport“ Jenike also took part and made her views clear.
DEB-Secretary General Claus Gröbner gave exciting insights into the association’s work at the panel talk “Revenue Models & Sponsoring in Women's Team Sports“. At the end of the day, the "parliamentary evening" with sports and politics on the agenda, where Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser was a guest and spoke to the guests. National player Laura Kluge took part in the final round of discussions “Road to Gold – Present and Future of Women's Team Sports from the Perspective of German Squad Athletes" part.
DEB-Women's Competitive Sports Officer Ronja Jenike draws a positive conclusion from the second women's team sports conference: "The event was an important platform for women's team sports with a high-caliber field of participants who were able to convey many impressions from relevant areas. There were many exciting contacts on site with whom we were able to have personal exchanges. The different approaches of the individual associations, which were communicated to each other, were particularly valuable."
