The 2025 IIHF U20 World Championship is getting closer and the official schedule has now been set. The tournament will take place from Thursday, December 26, 2024, to Sunday, January 5, 2025, in the Canadian capital Ottawa. Germany will face the USA, Finland, host Canada and Latvia in Group A. The German team will kick off on December 26 at 20:30 p.m. German time at the Canadian Tire Centre against the defending champions from the USA.
Sports director Christian Künast: "The IIHF U20 World Championship is the highest international stage in ice hockey for our young players. Our clear focus as a team is to stay in the league. We will prepare specifically for the upcoming tasks in order to start the tournament in the best possible way. It is particularly important that our players also get the necessary playing time at the highest level in their clubs before the World Championship in order to be optimally prepared."
