The German U17 national team travelled to the Slovakian Piestany for the 5-nation tournament to kick off the new season. Under the leadership of honorary national coach Philip Kipp, they had to play four games against top international opponents. After just one session on the ice, the game against the hosts was already on the agenda. In the two days that followed, the German Young Talent Team played against the USA and the Czech Republic. At the end of the tournament, after a day's break, they took to the ice against Switzerland. DEBThe team was unable to record a win at the start of the season. Nevertheless, the new U17 year group can look back on an instructive tournament that has provided valuable insights for the upcoming training courses.
U17 honorary national coach Philip Kipp: "The 5 Nations Tournament is traditionally the most educational event in the U17 year. This season, the results were even clearer due to various circumstances. From the experiences gained, the players now need to take the specific topics they have worked out together into training at the club and learn from them. Overall, the coaching team would like to praise the team spirit of this year group, which, despite frustrating moments, grew rather than diminished by the end of the course."
