The DEBReferee Caroline Butt has been invited to the 4-day NHL Exposure Combine 2024 in Buffalo (USA). The annual camp is designed to give referees an insight into refereeing at an international level.
At the beginning of July, Caroline Butt had already taken part in the European Summer Exposure Combine 2024 in Budapest (Hungary). Here, around 60 referees from 17 countries were trained in the areas of rule interpretation, positioning, communication and game management. The lessons were taught by officials from the NHL and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). After the end of the course, three of the participants were selected to take part in the NHL Exposure Combine 2024. This will take place from August 15 to 18, 2024 in Buffalo, North America and is a kind of international exchange program for referees.
DEB-Referee Caroline Butt: “The invitation to the camp is a privilege and a rare opportunity. I get to learn in the country where ice hockey is at home. The best coaches in the world will share their experiences with us and report on how they deal with difficult situations. I am looking forward to getting to know new people, ways of thinking, techniques and ways of communicating. I want to prove my skills in Buffalo and DEB represented with dignity.”
