The German U20 national team has completed its first event of the season with two friendly matches in Piestany against Slovakia. Despite two narrow defeats against the hosts (3:4 and 0:2), the DEB-Team gain valuable experience and make important progress.
The focus of the event was not only on the sporting encounters, but also on the intensive preparation and development of the players, both individually and as a team. The next event for the Young Talents selection led by U20 national coach Tobias Abstreiter will take place in November in Vierumäki, Finland. The team wants to build on their performances there in order to be as well prepared as possible for the Junior World Championships.
U20 national coach Tobias Abstreiter: "We had a good time together and started the new season well. We gave the players important training material to prepare for the international season. I think the players also gained important experience in the matches against Slovakia and saw what is necessary to have a chance of winning matches internationally."
