The German Women's Ice Hockey League (DFEL) will start the upcoming 2024/2025 season with six teams. For the first time, a team from Hungary will also take part in the competition. The five-time champion of the European Women's Hockey League (EWHL), the Kandai Magyar Hokiklub Budapest, will strengthen the DFEL for the coming season.

The new season will open on October 5/6, 2024 with three league matches. The other matches for the coming season have also already been confirmed. The season will be played in a double round as usual.

The last matchday of the DFEL main round is scheduled for the weekend of February 15/16, 2025, before the playoffs begin on February 22, 2025. As in previous years, these will be played in best-of-5 mode. The champions of the 2024/2025 season will then be determined by March 29, 2025 at the latest.
