They win the fourth game at the U18 Ice Hockey World Championship DEB-Juniors against Japan. With the 6-2 win, the team of U18 national coach André Rankel remains undefeated in first place in the table. The goal scorers for the German team were Elias Schneider (3), Simon Seidl, Julian Beck and Tobias Schwarz. Elias Schneider became the best player.
Lennart Neiße started in goal today, but he didn't get many shots at his goal in the first third. He only had to save six attempts, but had no chance when Japan's Hyuga Miura conceded a 1-2 goal (19'). But this snapshot does not reflect the course of the section: Germany was considered the favorite against the pointless Japanese and began the game with many shots on Sazuku Kudo's goal. Dustin Willhöft had the first big chance in the fourth minute. But Elias Schneider scored the first goal of the afternoon (9th). Simon Seidl increased the score to 2-0 (17th) before the Japanese were able to reduce the deficit shortly before the break.
In the middle third, the German team continued where it had left off in the first. The shot statistics rose to a total of 52 shots over the course of the period. The Japanese goalkeeper saved most of the attempts. But between the 24th and 27th minutes, the German strikers found a way into the goal three times: first it was Julian Beck (24th), then Elias Schneider (25th) and finally Tobias Schwarz (27th) who made it 5-1.
Just 13 seconds after the second break, Elias Schneider made it 6-1 with his third goal DEB-Boys and his hat trick perfect. Despite the significant deficit, the Japanese had another success experience: Hyuga Miura was the goalscorer and reduced the score to 2:6 (43'). No goals were scored in the final minutes, although Team Germany came close several times. With the clear win against Japan, that remains DEB-Selection remains unbeaten and achieves its fourth win in its fourth game.
The last game for the U18s in this tournament follows on Saturday. From 20 p.m. we play against the hosts Denmark.
