Not just for the women's national team of the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund (DEB) the highlight of the season is on the program in April 2024, including the DEB-Referees and linesmen will be in action at the highest international level in the coming weeks.
2024 IIHF Women's World Championship in Utica, USA (April 3-14, 2024)
The German women's national team will contest its World Cup opener against Denmark this Thursday, April 4, 2024 - but not only that DEBPlayers have traveled to the USA, and Vanessa Anselm and Leonie Ernst, a referee and a linesman from the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund, have also been nominated for the Women's World Championship in Utica. Vanessa Anselm has often been on international ice, but this year the Mannheim native has been nominated for an A World Championship for the first time. In her “everyday life” as a referee, she is involved in the Oberliga, the German Women’s Ice Hockey League (DFEL), the German Young Talent League (DNL) and at various international matches for the German women’s national team.
DEB-Referee Vanessa Anselm: “It's just crazy. I hadn't expected the nomination and I was even more speechless at first. I live and love this sport and feel incredibly honored to be able to take part in the Women's World Cup as a German referee. I am looking forward to the journey and the time together with colleagues from all over the world, as well as to our collaboration, fair games and great memories. I want to get the best out of myself, support the teams on the ice and grow as a referee. I am incredibly grateful for this experience.”
