Telekom and DOSB New Media GmbH have agreed on an extensive cooperation in the field of ice hockey. The cooperation includes games from the national leagues DEL and DEL2, matches from the Champions Hockey League as well as matches between the German national ice hockey teams and the men's, women's and junior world championships. The agreement runs until 2028 and starts on May 10 with up to 21 World Cup games, including all games of the vice world champion Germany.
Ice Hockey-Fans benefit from the strategic partnership on both platforms
Telekom is acquiring sublicenses from DOSB New Media GmbH for games from the 2024 to 2028 Ice Hockey World Championships. Up to 10 games will be broadcast live on the MagentaSport and MagentaTV platforms from May 26th to May 21th from the upcoming World Cup, all of which are included Games of the German national team as well as two quarter-finals, the semi-finals, the game for third place and the final.
In addition, from the new season onwards, MagentaSport will be showing one game per week from the Champions Hockey League (CHL) live for the first time. These include games with German participation in the group phase as well as one game from each round in the knockout phase including the final. Top clubs from Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Austria take part in the CHL, and Germany is up to date Berlin and Bremerhaven nominated. DOSB New Media GmbH has acquired the rights here from the 2024/25 season and will show all DEL2 games live and on demand on its Sportdeutschland.TV platform.
Sportdeutschland.TV is also significantly expanding the ice hockey offering for its customers as part of the cooperation. In the future, MagentaSport's live broadcasts of all games in the German Ice Hockey League will be available as a pay-per-view offer on Sportdeutschland.TV. A total of 364 main round games and up to 55 games in the DEL playoffs can be seen on the online sports channel starting next season. In addition, Sportdeutschland.TV users can see the game summaries of all DEL games on demand.
In addition, all MagentaSport game broadcasts are also from the DEB-Telekom's rights portfolio will be made available in the pay-per-view offering on Sportdeutschland.TV from the new season. These are, among other things, the games of Deutschland Cups, the U20 and U18 games as well as the Women's World Cup and the men's World Cup test matches.

MagentaSport has been showing all games of the German Ice Hockey League since 2016 and holds the media rights of the DEL until 2028. Telekom has been a partner of the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund for just as long and already offers an extensive live program of the German national teams, including all games of the Deutschland Cups as well as games in the U20 World Cup and the Women's World Cup. This year's Women's World Cup starts on April 4th in the USA. MagentaSport broadcasts all of the German team's games and the final live and free of charge. From April 11th, all eight German men's World Cup preparation games will be played live and free of charge. Together, Telekom and Sportdeutschland.TV are working together to ensure even more media visibility and accessibility for ice hockey in Germany and thus meet the growing interest. Recently, both the DEL and DEL2 reported record numbers of spectators in their arenas.
