The dates for the start of the season and all further game rounds Oberliga Nord and Oberliga Süd stand firm. In contrast to current league operations, in the 2024/2025 season both seasons will start the new season at the same time. The Oberliga Nord and Oberliga Süd will therefore open the new season together on Friday, September 20, 2024. As every year, the exact number of main round game days and the start of the playoffs depend on the number of teams in the respective seasons. The Oberliga champion will then be determined by Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the latest.
In accordance with the DEL and DEL2, there will be a break on the second weekend of November in the coming season. An international break that the senior national teams of the DEB for the delivery of their Deutschland Cup use.
The new framework calendar was created in close coordination between the Oberliga clubs and the DEB-League management in order to best meet the needs of everyone involved.
DEB-Vice President Marc Hindelang (responsible for LEV/Oberligen): “With the new Oberliga framework calendar, we are taking into account the clubs' wish to reduce the Tuesday games in the main round, which are not particularly attractive in terms of spectators. At the same time, this is also helpful for clubs that have a high proportion of young players or semi-professionals in their squad, for whom games during the week are difficult to manage due to work or study."
