Sunday, February 11, 2024, 13:18 p.m.: U18 men are narrowly defeated by Slovakia's U19 team
The U18 national team was narrowly defeated by the Slovakian U19 team 5:6. After the team led by U18 national coach André Rankel was in the lead for a long time, it wasn't enough to win in the end. The goal scorers on the German side were Felix Kerbel (12th), 2x Lenny Boos (14th/46th) and 2x Tobias Schwarz (35th/49th).

The last game of the 11-nation tournament in Poprad is tomorrow at 00:4 a.m. The opponent is then the U19 team from Slovakia.
U18 honorary national coach André Rankel: "For us today was an important test with a view to the World Cup in April - to bring the same intensity and focus in two games, in two days. We played a little too complicated in the first 40 minutes and received too many penalties as a result. In the last third we showed character and played our hockey and were rewarded for our work."

At the end of the 16-nation tournament in Klagenfurt, the U4 national team had to admit defeat to the hosts from Austria with 2:3 nV. The DEB-The goal scorers were Mats Geppert (14th) and Lukas Greil. Due to the victories in the first two games, U16 national coach Robin Beckers' team still finished the tournament in first place.
U16 national coach Robin Beckers: "In the last game we were superior in terms of play and technique, but from the second third onwards we were no longer able to cope so well with the physical play of the Austrians. Unfortunately we were not able to take advantage of our numerous opportunities this time and thus kept our opponents in the game. The U16 national team can look forward to a win against Norway at the 4-nation tournament in Klagenfurt (Austria). The DEB-The goal scorers in the 6:2 win were 2x Tobias Krestan, Lukas Greil, 2x Toni Fürst and Jakub Kottner. U16 national coach Robin Beckers: "Today we were unfortunately not at all ready in the first 20 minutes and had little playing time against the great pressure from the Norwegians. Max Bolle kept us in the game and we were mercilessly efficient up front again. In the second third we were better in the forecheck and in the build-up play and were able to take the wind out of the Norwegians' sails. Thanks to a quick response to the goals we were able to win in the end."

The DEB-The goal scorers were Tobias Schwarz (3rd), Elias Pul (12th), Dustin Willhöft (16th), Clemens Sager (25th) and Lenny Boos (32nd). The German young talent selection scored four of the five goals in the power play.
U18 honorary national coach André Rankel: "Of course we are a little frustrated about the result, but we played good hockey for large parts of the game today and created a lot of chances. Especially in the second period we were unable to convert these into goals and thus were unable to win the game."

U17 honorary national coach Philip Kipp: "The team was able to implement a lot of the training content and gained more and more confidence over the course of the game. The debutants integrated well and we are pleased that the team was able to reward itself for its good performance with a win."

The U16 young talent selection can look forward to a clear 6-0 win against France. Lukas Greil scores a hat trick. The goal scorers on the German side were Max Penkin (12th), Lukas Greil (13th/22nd/26th), Vyacheslav Permitin (36th) and Maximilian Strauß (57th).
U16 national coach Robin Beckers: "Today we played efficiently and deserved to win. We were simply better and smarter than France in the final stages. Nevertheless, the French demanded a lot from us and we definitely need to improve our passing and build-up play in the coming games. We have already shown some good approaches, but we still made too many turnovers."
The next game for the U16 men is tomorrow at the 4-nation tournament in Klagenfurt, Austria. At 15:00 p.m. the opponent is Norway.

The U19 young talent selection suffered a 5:1 defeat against the Czech Republic at the start of the 3-nation tournament in Kloten, Switzerland. Timo Ruckdäschel scored the only German goal in the 3rd minute of the game. The next game against Finland is scheduled for tomorrow at 15:00 p.m.

The scorers on DEB-side were Nick Maul (7th), Tobias Schwarz (14th) and Bence Farkas (19th). Mateu Späth was named the best German player. On Friday, the team led by U18 national coach André Rankel will play against Ukraine at 13:30 p.m.
U18 honorary national coach André Rankel: "We are happy about the victory today. We played our game for over 40 minutes and spent a lot of time in the offensive third. Despite the high effort, we were not able to reward ourselves more clearly."

When they arrived in Poprad, the team led by U18 national coach André Rankel immediately moved into the cabin in the ice rink so that they can start their first training session straight away tomorrow.

This morning the U19 team took the bus to Switzerland. After arrival and a short snack, the first ice training session was on the agenda under the direction of the coaching team of U20 national coach Tobias Abstreiter.
