The U18 women's national team concludes its December campaign with two wins and just one loss. While the score was 0:5 against the Swiss on the first match day, things steadily improved from then on. This was already possible in the second game against Switzerland DEB-Young talent team prevailed 1-0. The goal scorer for the German team was Emmi-Lee Hanack. In the following game against the Austrians, the team led by honorary national coach Philip Kipp achieved another 1-0 win. Anna Rose scored for the German team.
For the U18 women, this training course was the last major assessment before the upcoming 2024 IIHF U18 Women's World Championship. The season highlight will take place from January 6 to 14, 2024 in Zug (SUI). There, the team will face Canada, Finland and the Czech Republic in preliminary round Group A.
Honorary national coach Philip Kipp: “The team has gradually implemented the course content better and better, especially with the focus on defensive behavior. In the end, the team was even able to reward themselves for their hard work by winning the tournament. That should have given the team confidence for the upcoming World Cup.”
