Squad of the women's national team: 24 players are there
Women's national coach Jeff MacLeod has called up 24 players for the international tournament and is relying on a mix of experienced national players and young talents. The majority of the squad plays in the domestic DFEL, Heidi Strompf (Presov / SVK) and Franziska Feldmeier (Linköping / SWE) come from international leagues. The coaching staff around national coach MacLeod is Ronja Jenike and Max Deichstetter as assistants as well as goalkeeping coach Sascha Rogoza.
Women's national coach Jeff MacLeod: “We are looking forward to holding the tournament together with the men and can hardly wait to get started. In Landshut we rely on experienced players and young players who want to prove themselves. Some will not take part in the tournament due to injuries or playing abroad. We are already preparing for the World Cup next spring with the tournament, so it is important for us as a team to get even closer together and to develop further in all areas. We will work a lot on processes and structures. The tournament games against the strong teams play a central role for us, because we can grow and gain the most knowledge in comparison with other nations. We will of course enjoy the atmosphere in Landshut and have a lot of fun together.”

Overall, we have a promising mix in the squad for the Deutschland Cup 2023. In addition to some silver medalists who want to prove themselves again, there are players who have made a good impression in the league. These include well-known players who were unable to take part in the last World Cup and who want to defend last year's cup victory with us in Landshut. In coordination with the club officials, some established national players will be rested due to the strain and playing times so far during the season. Everyone involved is looking forward to the days spent together with the women's team. Especially because after our World Cup success, we can finally play together in front of our home fans in Germany again."
