The World Girls' Ice Hockey Weekend, initiated by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), has been a global event since 2011, offering young girls the opportunity to try out ice hockey as a new sport. The last event took place last October. Since the project was launched, several thousand ice hockey clubs have already got involved, not only to introduce girls to the sport in a positive and entertaining way, but also to teach them about fair play, sportsmanship and teamwork.
This year the event will take place again from October 20th to 22nd in various ice rinks around the world. For all interested ice hockey clubs in Germany, the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund (Deutscher Eishockey-Bund eV) offersDEB) is a central contact point and also supports the application process for the IIHF.
DEB-Women's representatives and Eisbären Juniors Berlin Assistant trainer Kathrin Fring will primarily act as a contact person. Anyone interested can send an email until October 8, 2023 kathrin.fring@deb-online.de to take part in this year's World Girls' Ice Hockey Weekend.
