Yesterday, Monday evening, the... Men's national team for their silver medal success at the last Ice Hockey World Championships with the SPORT BILD Award excellent. The vice world champions won the prestigious prize in the “Surprise of the Year” category.
Around 700 guests attended the SPORT BILD awards show Hamburghe fish auction hall was there. Despite the ongoing preparation for the new ice hockey season, a large part of the national team around national coach Harold Kreis was on site to attend the ceremony and accept the award in person. The success was celebrated at a subsequent get-together with the other winners of the SPORT BILD Award and invited guests.
DEB-President Dr. Peter Merten: “The Presidium of the DEB congratulates the men's national team on receiving the SPORT BILD Award. The team led by national coach Harold Kreis absolutely deserves it after their impressive performances at the recent World Championships. The award ceremony also shows the appeal that our national ice hockey teams generally have. The success in Tampere was not only celebrated in the ice hockey scene, but also moved sports enthusiasts throughout Germany."

National coach Harold Kreis: “It was a wonderful event and appreciation for our national team. Our boys can be proud to have received the award. It was my first time personally attending the SPORT BILD Award and it was impressive to see how much organization went into it, so many guests and award winners for this special evening Hamburg pick up."
National team captain Moritz Müller: “For us, the award is a great recognition and appreciation for the performance that the entire team showed at the World Cup in Finland. Just the audience and the winners who are in Hamburg were on site, underline the importance of the event. For us, such evenings are a welcome stage that we like to use and show our presence. Especially at a time when football has become a bit distant from society.”
