The men's U17 national team had to travel home from Chomutov in the Czech Republic with four defeats under their belt. At the 5-nation tournament, the team led by honorary national coach Philip Kipp competed against teams from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland and the USA. For the DEB-Selection meant playing four international matches within four days.
For the German U17 national team, the tournament in the Czech Republic was the first event of the new 2023/2024 season.
Honorary national coach Philip Kipp: “That was the expected difficult start to the season for the team. The tournament was very high-caliber, but we still managed to keep the games very close for over 40 minutes in the first three games. But we didn't manage to consistently complete our tasks. Of course that takes its toll at this level. Especially in the fourth game in four days, we had an opponent in the USA who punished every mistake. Despite everything, the tournament was very educational for the team.”
