The Bayreuth Tigers receive the right to play after a subsequent application to participate in the admission process Oberliga Süd-Season 2023/2024. This was the result of the extensive examination by the league officials. The Tigers from Bayreuth were able to demonstrate the necessary economic performance for playing in the upper leagues. However, the approval of the club from Franconia is tied to several conditions that still have to be fulfilled.
The Oberliga Süd will therefore start with at least 12 teams in the coming season. After being denied admission, the ice sports club Füssen eV will probably go through the playing court of the German Ice Hockey Federation eV. Due to the expected procedure, the publication of the game plan for the Oberliga Nord and Oberliga Süd delay until mid-August.
