After the approval process has been completed, the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund announced that twelve clubs Oberliga Nord as well as eleven clubs Oberliga Süd will compete in the 2023/2024 season. This means that a total of 23 clubs have been granted approval, eight of which have received requirements that still need to be met on time.
The Eissportverein Füssen eV will not take part in the game operations because crucial evidence that can predict economically stable game operations over the entire season was not provided within the officially specified deadlines. The DEB must protect the integrity of the competition, which is why the Oberliga officials had to make this difficult decision. However, the club from Füssen has the opportunity to apply for a review procedure to the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund's match court within two weeks.
Regarding the participation of the Bayreuth Tigers an der Oberliga Süd-Season 2023/2024, the decision will be made later this week.
The start of the season Oberliga Nord is scheduled for September 22, 2023 Oberliga Süd starts a week later. Existing general calendars will be adjusted accordingly and communicated promptly with the publication of the game plan.

The challenges for the participating clubs have increased dramatically in some cases over the last twelve months, which in some cases has resulted in extensive requirements. These are primarily necessary in order to be able to guarantee the smooth operation of the top leagues."
