In the past few days, there have unfortunately been some statements made on our digital channels that we as an association do not tolerate or accept. We as Deutscher Eishockey-Bund e.V. stand by our team values, which are: Faith – Pride – Passion – Will – Unity. Since the World Cup success, we have deleted many comments and blocked users who use our team values and the team's success as an opportunity to exclude and incite. Integration, diversity and tolerance are firmly anchored in our daily association work and we stand for these values. That's also why they exist “Hockey is Variety” initiative, she consists since the beginning of 2017 in cooperation with the state sports associations and primarily tries to raise awareness of the issue of integration and discrimination, especially in ice hockey. We as DEB would like to promote an intercultural opening of clubs in Germany, show together, that the sport of ice hockey stands for diversity, cosmopolitanism and tolerance – and that racism, anti-Semitism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia and any other kind of discrimination have no place in our ice rinks.
