Today in Tampere, Finland, the delegates of the member associations of the IIHF World Ice Hockey Federation granted the right to host the 2027 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship to the German Ice Hockey Federation (Deutscher Eishockey-Bund eV (DEB) forgive. The World Cup will therefore take place in May 2027 in the venues Düsseldorf and Mannheim, which were previously evaluated by tender.
The DEB prevailed against the competitor from Kazakhstan. The election was made in a secret vote on the occasion of the IIHF Annual Congress on the final weekend of the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship currently taking place in Finland and Latvia (Tampere/Riga).
