JJ, you've played almost 80 games in North America in the last few months - but you said yes straight away when Harold Kreis called. Of course for you?
JJ Peterka: “I always had fun with the national team and of course it is a great honor. It was actually clear to me when the season was coming to an end and I was still feeling good physically that there was no question that I would join the national team.”
Here in your hometown you will meet former teammates from Munich, who are you most looking forward to meeting?
JJ Peterka: “I'm most looking forward to Filip Varejcka and Justin Schütz because we've known each other for a while and we've always had fun together in Salzburg and Munich. We just always have a good time together.”
How excited are you for the game against the USA, your first in this World Cup preparation?
JJ Peterka: “We're playing in Munich, I haven't been on the ice here for a long time, it's a really cool thing. In the game against the USA I will face my teammate Alex Tuch from Buffalo, so Tuesday will definitely be something very special for me.”
You were born in Munich, is that a kind of home game for you?
JJ Peterka: "In any case. I plan to have a lot of friends and family come here. They have all already said that they want to watch and cheer us on.”
The World Cup in Finland and Latvia will be the second World Cup for you, what makes such a tournament special for you?
