The national team has its first victory in preparation for the World Cup retracted. They won in Deggendorf DEB-Selection by national coach Harold Kreis in front of 2.660 spectators (sold out) in Deggendorf against Austria 2-0 (2-0, 0-0, 0-0). Goal scorers for the DEB-Selections were Dominik Bokk (2nd) and Parker Tuomie (6th). Both teams will meet again on Saturday. The game in Landshut starts at 17 p.m.
In goal, Maximilian Franzreb got his second start of the current World Cup preparations, with Tobias Ancicka standing by as backup. Moritz Müller, who joined the team on Tuesday, led the team onto the ice as captain. Dominik Kahun and Luis Schinko were included in the attacking squad. Goalkeeper Arno Tiefensee and defender Marcus Weber, who rotated out of the team, were not used. Striker Daniel Schmölz, who started training with the team this week after falling ill, was rested.
The German team got off to a perfect start. The guests from Austria had to accept their first penalty after just 18 seconds. Dominik Bokk (2nd) used the subsequent power play after a nice pass combination to take the early lead. A little later, Parker Tuomie took courage and prevailed against his opponents with a strong solo - making it 2-0 after just six minutes of play. Austria then increased its offensive efforts, but the German defense was attentive.
In the second third, the national team controlled the game for a long time. Things became dangerous when the Austrians were awarded a power play about half way through the game. In this phase, goalie Maxi Franzreb kept an overview and showed several safe shots Parathe. The German team was also able to perform well offensively, but no further goals were scored in what was a very fast game.
A similar picture emerged in the final section. The German team worked very focused in their own zone, so that the Austrians only had a few clear chances to score. When things got tough, Franzreb was there. It stayed that way until the end and that DEB-Goalie could be happy with a shutout. This was the first victory for Harold Kreis and the newly formed coaching staff.
