The sports director of the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund (DEB) begins his NHL trip to Canada and the USA this Thursday afternoon. Christian Künast plans to meet the majority of German players who are under contract in the National Hockey League (NHL) for a personal discussion. In addition, meetings are scheduled with the general managers of the respective clubs. These will focus on the player in question, the sporting situation in the team and other essential topics such as insurance and future cooperation.
In addition to exchanging ideas with the players and general managers, Christian Künast would also like to get his own impression of the sporting development. For this purpose, we plan to attend some training sessions and NHL games.
The knowledge gained from this is a central part of the preparations for the 12 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Tampere (FIN) and Riga (LAT) from May 28th to 2023th.
