The U25 selection of the Deutscher Eishockey-Bund (DEB) has successfully completed the measure in Slovakia. The German team retained the upper hand with a score of 3-1 and thus secured their second victory within 24 hours against the Slovaks.
Like yesterday, Wednesday, an intense and fast-paced game developed in front of a large crowd of 7.532 spectators in the Steel Arena in Košice, in which both goalkeepers were able to excel several times in the first third. The leadership for those who act with concentration DEB-Selection was made by Luis Schinko (27th) in the second third, while the Slovaks were able to equalize before the break thanks to their double majority through Čacko (35th). At this point, Arno Tiefensee had taken over the goalkeeper position from Florian Bugl as planned. In the final section, the German team turned up the heat again, overcame numerous outnumbered situations and achieved deserved success with goals from Tobias Eder (42') and Philipp Krauss (48'). The event will take place tomorrow, Friday DEB-Select the journey home to Germany.
Coach Alexander Sulzer: “Like yesterday, we played very solid overall and gained a lot of possession of the puck in the offensive zone from behind. Today we had to play a little more outnumbered, which our boys did really well. The four days with the team were incredibly fun for us as a coaching staff with the whole team around us. I’m already looking forward to the next joint measures in the future.”
Striker and goalscorer Luis Schinko: “The Slovaks came out of the dressing room strong today with the home advantage, but we still survived the first third unscathed. After that we got into the game very well and ultimately got the win we deserved with two goals in the final third. It was a lot of fun to come to the national team again and be in the dressing room with the boys. I’m sure we’ll all take a lot of self-confidence with us.”
