Monday, February 13, 2023, 09:15 a.m.: Addendum to the weekend for the A and U16 women
The German women's national team played their last two games of the 5-nation tournament in Füssen on Saturday and Sunday, but again with no success. The Swedes secured victory 4-1 on Saturday afternoon. The only German scorer was Celina Haider in the 60th minute. And it wasn't meant to be on Sunday either. In a very close game, the German team lost to the guests from Switzerland 1:2 (goal by Anne Bartsch / 5th minute) and thus finished the tournament in last place.
In Telfs, however, our German U16 women's team led by Jenny Harss met Austria in two games. Here, the German young talent selection was able to clearly win 4-0 in the first meeting on Saturday. However, less than 24 hours later, the Austrians had the opportunity for revenge, which did not go unused. In the penalty shootout in the second game, the German team ultimately had to admit defeat to Austria 3-4.
Saturday, February 11, 2023, 17:40 p.m.: U18 team secures first win in last game
The young talent selection led by U18 national coach Alexander Dück kept things exciting until the last minutes in their last game against the hosts. In the penalty shootout, the German team beat the Slovaks 4-3 and secured their long-awaited first victory in the tournament. The German team thus finished the 4-nation tournament in third place. Lua Niehus, Kevin Bicker, Julius Marsh and Timo Ruckdäschel scored the decisive goal in the shootout for the German U18 national team. Goalkeeper Leon Willerscheid was named the best German player.
Saturday, February 11, 2023, 16:55 p.m.: Tournament victory in Norway
The team led by U16 national coach Robert Schroepfer lost the last game to the French 3-4 after a penalty shootout, but still secured tournament victory with the extra point. The goals this afternoon were scored by David Lewandowski (43rd), Rihards Griva (47th) and Albert Bicker (53rd).
"The team seemed a little tired after the late game last night. Nevertheless, we showed morale again and twice caught up in the last third. In the end, unfortunately, we didn't make it over the finish line in the penalty shootout. Overall, however, we showed a good tournament performance and deservedly rounded off this season with a tournament win," said our Young Talent coach after the last game.
Saturday, February 11, 2023, 15:20 p.m.: U17 also lost in the last comparison
The German U17 national team also had to admit defeat 1-3 in their last meeting with Slovakia. The only goalscorer on the German side was striker Maximilian Oswald.
U17 national coach Philipp Kipp: "We wanted to use the last training session of the year to scout as many players as possible and so a special constellation arose with many debutants who were thrown in at the deep end without any real opportunity to train. Under these circumstances, the team at least played two decent games in which they gave themselves the opportunity to win. Unfortunately, the level of concentration could not be maintained in the third game. It was clear here that many players from league play are not used to implementing certain things consistently and consistently and it was shown which areas still need to be addressed for the year group."

Saturday, February 11, 2023, 10:15 p.m.: U17 national coach Philipp Kipp draws an interim conclusion
"Under the circumstances, we were quite satisfied with the team's performance. Yesterday we had a total of 10 debutants in the team, who did a good job in just one training session together. It's a shame that the team couldn't reward itself. In extra time - just like on the previous match day - both teams had the opportunity to win the game."

The young talent selection led by the U17 national coach lost their first game in the 2-nation tournament against Slovakia 4:5 after extra time. In this first meeting, the guests got off to a better start and it was Ondrej Maruna who gave his team the lead for the first time in the 15th minute of the game. At the beginning of the second third, the German team managed to appear on the scoreboard for the first time. Maximilian Oswald sank the puck behind the Slovakian goal line in the 22nd minute.
