DEB-Sports director Christian Künast: “We can be satisfied with the performance. We're still missing a lot of surprise or even sensation. This was clearly seen today. The analysis after the tournament will also show aspects where we are not at the level internationally that is needed to be successful, but it is important to address such points if you want to get better. I would like to thank the whole team and the team around the team for their work over the last few weeks.”
U20 national coach Tobias Abstreiter: "It was very positive that we reached our internal goal of reaching the quarter-finals. That is a very nice goal that we set ourselves. Of course it is a bitter end when you are eliminated in the quarter-finals like that, with no chance and almost no resistance. But I think that the positive outweighs the negative. It was of course very clear that we are far from being able to keep up with the big nations like Canada, the Czech Republic and the USA at the same level and play in such a way that we ultimately have a chance of winning."
