Sunday, November 13, 2022, 17:53 p.m.: DEB-Men win the tournament!
Successful defense of the title Deutschland Cup 2022 in Krefeld: National coach Toni Söderholm's team secured tournament victory for the second time in a row. He succeeded DEB-Selection today's third win in the third game. There was a 3-0 win against Slovakia at the end of the tournament. Goal scorers for the DEB-Selections were Tim Wohlgemuth (7th), Tobias Eder (31st) and Tim Fleischer (60th). The DEB-Selection looks back on five eventful and successful years Deutschland Cup 2022 in Krefeld and would like to thank everyone involved, helpers and local partners for the excellent cooperation.
National coach Toni Söderholm: “It was a bit chaotic today, but at the end of the day, when you're tired and mistakes happen, you always hope that the goalkeeper has your back. That's exactly what the Pante did today and a young German team found a way to win an ice hockey game and tournament. I'm very, very proud of what the players showed and achieved. It’s a deserved tournament win.”
Defender Marcus Weber: “We decided to play hard for 60 minutes every game, run a lot and help each other. We did that really well over three 60-minute periods and deservedly won three games. It was a huge honor for me, whether as captain or assistant. That was simply unbelievable. I'm already one of the older ones in the club, so it wasn't a completely new role. I tried to help the others, especially the younger ones. But the boys are all in great shape and can play really great hockey, so it was pretty easy.”
Striker Tobias Eder: “The days with the national team here were wonderful. Everyone worked hard from day one. We improved every day and did our best. I think that's why we deserved to keep the cup here in Germany.

Saturday, November 12, 2022, 20:50 p.m.: DEB-Men defeat Austria 3-0
Second game, second win for the national team Deutschland Cup 2022: National coach Toni Söderholm's team won 3-0 against Austria on Saturday evening. Goal scorers for the DEBThe selections were Andreas Eder (6th), Tobias Eder (18th) and Danjo Leonhardt (29th).
National coach Toni Söderholm: “It was a strong game from the boys. The first third in particular was very solid. The team had a lot of control of the game here. That was a good starting point for the game. We lost track a bit at times, but overall I have to praise the team once again. The boys deserved to win.”
Striker Andreas Eder: “I think we played an incredibly good first third and perhaps surprised the Austrians a bit. We played very well with the advantage and scored the goals at the right time in the first third. And then added one more in the second third. We defended very well in the final third and deserved to win. At the end of the day it's about getting better little by little. The fact that we have two wins now is of course great and if we play another good game, we can win the third game too.”
Striker Danjo Leonhardt: “I think we had a good pace in the game. The Austrians also brought in a lot of speed. But we accepted it very well and brought in a lot of quality with our young team. Experienced players led us well and now we are of course happy about the win and the shutout for Strahlmeier.”
Saturday, November 12, 2022, 19:10 p.m.: U20 team wins in Monthey

In the third game for the U18 women, the German team also lost 1-5 to the Slovakians in Sweden. Lilianne Gottfried scored the goal on the German side.
U18 women’s national coach Franziska Busch: "We had a bad start to the game with two quick goals conceded, but then we fought back well and kept the game open. We were able to create a few scoring opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them. Overall, we are too harmless offensively and score too few goals to be able to win the games."
Saturday, November 12, 2022, 15:15 p.m.: U17 national team loses third and final game in Poprad
For the German U17 team, the three-nation tournament in Slovakia ends with a 3:1 defeat against Switzerland. The only German goalscorer that day is Carlos Handel. Despite the defeats, the team took a lot of instructive lessons back to Germany from the event.
U17 national coach Philip Kipp: "Overall, we have to say that we were clearly inferior in terms of running in all games and played far too complicated with the puck. Because we couldn't keep our game simple, we regularly made mistakes in the phases when we had momentum, which led to goals being scored against us and that never gave us the chance to win a game in our favor. That was an important experience for the team. The next tournament is in February, and we need to take a step forward here."
Saturday, November 12, 2022, 13:50 p.m.: First win of the day for Team Germany
The German U18 national team won the last game of the 3-nation tournament in Füssen this morning against Slovakia 5-3 and secured tournament victory with their second success. The goals on the German side were scored by Vadim Schreiner (14th & 58th), Niklas Greil (39th), Kevin Bicker (56th) and Timo Ruckdäschel (60th).
U18 national coach Alexander Dück: "This tournament victory is very important for the team. We have seen what we can achieve if we really work hard. It is important for the boys to get a feeling of what it is like to win games and to be rewarded for the work they put into the tournament. They should take this feeling with them and be able to evoke it again in the next event. Today's game was the best game we have played. At the beginning we had a little too much respect and fell behind too quickly. But it was again very positive that the boys did not give up, took advantage of the opportunities and rewarded themselves with the tournament victory."

The team fought until the end. Now the focus is on good regeneration and preparation for tomorrow's final game against Slovakia."
Friday, November 11, 2022, 18:40 p.m.: Opening defeat for the U20 team in Monthey
The German U20 national team lost in the opening game this Friday afternoon to the Norwegians 1:2 after regular time. The goal on the German side was scored by Philip Feist with a double advantage.
Striker Bennet Roßmy: "I think it wasn't a bad game for our first game as a team this year. We played good hockey for 40 minutes, but unfortunately we struggled a bit in the last third, conceded two goals and lost unluckily."
U20 national coach Tobias Abstreiter: "It was an instructive game from which we must draw the right conclusions. At times we played too complicated and did not get out of our own zone easily enough. Ultimately, we took too long to find the simple decisions. Unfortunately, that was the case in the third period. We must learn from it and incorporate the things we demand into our game so that we can play effectively and successfully."

Unfortunately, the German U17 national team also lost 18:2 to their U5 opponents from France in their first game. The goals on the German side were scored by Nick Maul and Rihards Griva.
U17 national coach Philip Kipp: "We played against an U18 team, which means we were one or two years younger than our opponents. We had problems with the opponents' physicality and speed, especially at the beginning of the game. Nevertheless, we accepted this challenge well and got better third by third. At the end we were definitely the team that dominated the game, but we still didn't manage to take advantage of our chances. But this is also a learning process for the boys. We are very happy with the way they took on the whole thing. Tomorrow we'll play against the Slovakians to see how we progress with the young group."

U18 women’s national coach Franziska Busch on the game: "It was a disjointed first third in which we struggled to find our way into the game. Over time we found our way into our game better, but were too harmless offensively. We struggled to create scoring opportunities and left too much to be desired defensively. We will now analyse the game and continue to work on the tactical structures tomorrow against Sweden."

Thursday, November 10, 2022, 12 p.m.: Voices from the training of the German men's national team
National coach Toni Söderholm: "The boys came together well. I sensed a focused, goal-oriented attitude from the players. We had a long training session today in which everyone pushed hard. We gave the players a lot of input and information beforehand, so it was a really intensive day of work, but that's how it should be. That way it's always fun. Tomorrow we want to make good decisions right from the start and support each other on the bench in the learning process. I want us to play intuitively, react and not think too much. Control and efficiency are important in tomorrow's game."
Defender Jannik Möser: “It's a lot of fun with the team, it's just nice to see everyone again and to be complete now. We know each other from the league. We had a few meetings and already intensive training sessions. We are ready to get started against Denmark, who arrived with a very good squad. It will definitely be an interesting game and of course a challenge for us with the short preparation time. In any case, we are highly motivated and are looking forward to the start.”
Defender Jan Luca Sennhenn: “It's great to be part of it and I enjoyed it straight away. Today we completed two good ice sessions and we are of course really looking forward to the start of the tournament. The expectations of the team are high. For me personally, it’s about presenting myself, not making mistakes and showing my best side.”
Striker Marc Michaelis: “It's always nice to see new faces in the national team and the group makes a good impression. This gives the whole thing a new energy because everyone wants to show themselves. The pace and quality are correspondingly high. We as a national team have developed very well over the last few years. The game of ice hockey in the leagues and at the international level is constantly changing. And we have to develop accordingly. We want to improve, especially when it comes to playing in the offensive zone with and without a disc, and we have to in order to continue to be successful internationally. That was our main focus in training and it will be the same in the games.”

U18 national coach Alexander Dück: "We started a little hesitantly, but gradually got better and better as the game progressed. There were some good moments, but also situations where we were weak, but we will continue to work on that now. Of course it's nice to win a game. I'm happy for the boys and the whole team. Overall, we showed character and played well for 60 minutes. Even when we conceded goals and were behind, the team never gave up. Of course, our goal throughout the tournament is to get better from game to game, to stabilize our game and to improve the quality of our system."

It's the day of arrival and many of the players and staff left during the night. It's a long day. However, the team took it very well and implemented what we asked of them well. The focus today was on working in the defensive zone. In my opinion, we've found our way around there fairly well. Tomorrow morning we'll go over a few more topics 5-on-5 in training and in the evening we'll focus on the special teams."

National coach Toni Söderholm: “As always, it’s nice to welcome the players on the first day. I noticed a lot of positive faces and a lot of energy. There was a good atmosphere and a lot of speed on the ice. Especially on the first day, people work so quickly that it almost overshadows the purpose of the exercises.
