Completed all the formalities at home, landed in China yesterday, tested negative and was training today: Korbinian Holzer completes the German men's national ice hockey team's squad for the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. The 33-year-old defender will join his teammates in the afternoon and take part in the ice session from 16 p.m. local time.
DEB-Sports director Christian Künast: “We are pleased that we were able to easily organize his subsequent journey and that Korbinian arrived safely with us. Now we are finally complete and can continue to prepare for the start of the tournament. In this context, we would like to express our thanks once again to our organizational team in Munich and the DOSB, who always supported us actively in completing all the formalities relating to our entire journey.”
Defender Korbinian Holzer: “I'm obviously relieved that I can get started with the boys straight away after my arrival today. The journey was long, but overall it worked well. Now it’s important for me to arrive as quickly as possible and really get involved in training so that we can go into the first game of the tournament optimally prepared.”
And what happens next on Monday? For the DEB-In addition to a short session in the morning (10:15 a.m. local time), the obligatory portrait and team photo session in Beijing is on the agenda. In the afternoon there is a training game against the Slovakia team (2 x 20 minutes).
