The PCR testing of all teams carried out on Wednesday upon arrival or before the start of the Deutschland Cup 2021 in the YAYLA ARENA in Krefeld two Slovak players showed a positive result. The two affected people are currently showing no symptoms and were immediately isolated. Two contact persons are in quarantine as a precautionary measure. All Slovak players are fully vaccinated.
All other entry tests on the three other participating teams before the start of the tournament showed negative results for PCR and rapid tests. Before the start of the tournament this afternoon, another rapid test was ordered for the Slovakian selection who were fit to play, which was also completely negative.
It starts after coordination with the health department Deutschland Cup 2021 therefore today as planned with the two games Slovakia against Switzerland (16.15 p.m.) and Germany against Russia (19.45 p.m.).
DEB-Sports director Christian Künast: “The number of infections has recently risen sharply again at home and abroad, making it all the more important to continue to implement our strict hygiene measures. This is particularly true for our tournament in Krefeld, for which the DEB has set up a strict hygiene concept in accordance with international standards. We wish the affected Slovak players a speedy recovery.”
